Instead of taking commands, X(19 months old) actually likes to instruct and give orders!

Yesterday morning X patted his diaper, looked at me while bugging me, "Mama, change!" pointing at his diaper, he repeated the same sentences until I grabbed a napkin and changed his soiled diaper! Just now in the Kopitiam, when I brought him to have lunch he kept pointing at the pau steamer and pestered me to buy a pau for him. Since I didn't buy any pau for them for quite some time, I just got him one char siew pao. Without guidance, he peeled the paper off the pau and slowly munching and nibbling on the filling, when it's time to fetch his sister, I found he finished the char siew(braised pork) filling and left some of skin untouched(sigh~! What a picky eater)!

This morning, he kept bugging me to give him spirulina tablet, he insisted to wear shirts with bear or ducks printed on it, he handed me a box and ask me, " Mama, open!"... well, congratulation to him for knowing what he wants but frankly, it's kind of bothersome too... *bitter smile!

At 19 months old, he is learning to count from 1- 10. When we say 1, he will recite 2; if we said 3, he will reply 4; the numbers go on till number 10(although the number 6,7 and 8 sound sluggish)!

I never thought X(19 months old) would be so eager to attend school, not until this morning!

All this while I pushed him in a stroller while walked his sister to kindie, but since now he is old enough to walk on his own without straying away (I reckon), I dared myself to try holding his hand and allow him to walk on his own!

He was rather submissive along our way to J's kindie. Upon reaching, coincidentally J's teacher wanted me to sign a document and I had to let go of X's hand. In a split second, this little boy of mine rushing into the kindie compound, straight away invading entering the classroom! He didn't even bother whether I was tailing him nor the presence of other strangers (teachers)... (rolled eyes)!

The teachers were giggling and chuckling when X complied of what they asked, to take off his shoes and wash his hands before entering the class(he actually queuing behind his sister in order to wait for his turn to wash hands)! However it was getting late for class, the teachers tried to sweet talk him back to me but he refused and struggled by flinching their hand away, he left the teacher no choice but to carry him to me, muahahahaha!

I can see through his face, he was rather upset that he couldn't join his sister at school. However I have tried to inquire J's headmistress about sending X to her school by next year, indirectly she rejected X's enrollment. She explained they are having more children compared to before(when J's time), they'll only take those children who will be 3 years old or older. What a pity!

It's our daily sleep routine that J will give me a peck on my mouth before she sets off to her slumber land. Just now right before she went to bed, she gave me warm and slimy kisses as usual. Since her father(TK) was lying by her side, I prompted her to give him a kiss as well.

But since her father has a bad breath(due to gastritis), she seems reluctant to do so. To my surprise she gave another incredible excuse instantaneously, she answered nonchalantly, " I don't want, papa's face is OILY lar!"

Immediately TK frowned and muttered, " You don't like papa?" She paused for awhile and replied, " No lar, I'll give you a hug, A HUG IS BETTER!" Seriously, I don't think my rusty brain can twist and turn so fast... and certainly not at her age!!!

My boy X is a 18 months old energetic monkey bunny, but he is one little gentleman that really makes me proud of him!

At time he can be very playful and naughty. There were a few times he hurt me (unintentionally) when he started to play rough, he then open his mouth to kiss me and cuddle me while uttered, " (s)orry mama, (s)ayang mama!" before he started to stroke my face... how sweet!

Last Saturday when we stopped by MIL's house, while he tried to ride on a toy cart, which belongs to his older cousin(a 3 years old single child), his cousin started to fret and whine. Obviously his cousin didn't want to share the cart with my poor little boy. Whilst FIL trying to sweet talk this bossy cousin, I turned to my boy and asked, " Would you mind to let kor kor (refer to his cousin) take the ride 1st?" He immediately got down from the toy cart and pushed it to his cousin and patted on the seat, signing him to sit on it!

Later when his cousin bothered FIL and bugged FIL to bring him up stair by yelling, " Ai phone!"(actually it was 'ai room', which means want to go to the bedroom) anyway X mistakenly heard it was "Phone" and hurriedly handed the toy mobile he was playing to his cousin and said, "Take!" Such a sweet pie~!

Writing Numbers!

I'm so happy today! Again my girl J showed me another new achievement, after struggling and practicing her numbers for umpteen times, she can now write from number 1- 4 without guidance!!! Yahoo! I reckon she did a great job especially for number '3', which she struggled and being restless when practicing it week ago( I blogged over here)!

J's "1, 2 ,3 , 4"!

I heard a lot of younger children that can write numbers even before they were 3, call me bias or whatever you like, but still I'm so darn proud of my sweet little girl(from the bottom of my heart)! Thank you my girl for your competence in learning and do forgive my impatiences when I got a little grouchy coaching you on your study, I love you so much!

p/s: Consistency and practice make prefect!

She Can Write!

This afternoon after J came back from her Montessori... or was it after nap(getting more absent minded these days)?! She requested for some plain paper and a pencil, then she was liked sketching hard on her student table while I was watching American Idol season 10 or perhaps Yummy King?!

Later she brought me the paper and happily told me she can write 'B' already, I was like 'ya'(in a rather unconcern tone) then took over the paper she passed to me... my eyes widened when I sported a big and neatly written 'B' on the paper, transiently my attention has drawn from the TV and focussed on my girl's writing! I gave her a tight hug and pat her head, "Well done! Mama is so proud of you!" that was what I muttered to her emotionally. It might be nothing to shout about for other mommies who their children can already write at the age of three or younger, but for my rebellious little sweetheart, it's certainly a break through!!! Yay!

I'll never forget how proud and happy she was that moment, before long she ran back to her table and continued sketching. This time she has successfully distracted me from the idiot box, I can't stop getting excited what she is going to show me next. True enough, she put a big smile on my face when she showed me her 'E', 'y', 'e', 'f' and 'd'. Indirectly she has prompted me to crave for more from her, I requested her to write my last name 'Bee'(since she can write 'B' and 'e') and she didn't disappoint me!

I can't wait for the time when she can spell words, make sentence and write a diary(since I'm now helping her to write her diary). Man, it's sure excited to see how our child grows... I love you my girl!

Yesterday J(3 years 6 months old)drove me up the wall, I didn't mean to be a 'Tiger Mom' but guess anyone would go nuts if she spent more than an hour coaching her child yet she still unable to write a '3' (Roar)!!! She have no problem tracing the '3' nor having problem writing it with her index finger, however she can't write it with pencil no matter how much encouragement or even yelling I have given(Thuh)!

This morning when I sent her to school, I honestly informed her teacher that she didn't complete her homework and I didn't sign for her. Her teacher got startled then she gave me a smile, she said she believes my girl can do the homework without flaw but might be tad too moody(huh?). Frankly I can't totally agree of what she said, I actually think they didn't put much effort to coach J how to write. Every time she brought back her homework, I found her words or numbers were written nice and neat, but when I asked her to write for me the exact word without tracing line, she can't do it without my coaching(instance her 'e' and '2')! When I questioned her teacher, she admitted she held her hand to guide her with the words...... at time I really wonder why I have to pay so much(while her father kept mumbling the fee is expensive) yet I still have to put lots of efforts to coach her writing?!!!

I don't mean to push J, but really hope she can change her attitude. She is over assertive and always assumes she knows everything!!! For instance this evening when I tried to teach her some piano lesson for beginner, she didn't comply to what I ask her to do and kept insisted she knows already! Sigh... just wonder when can my sweet little girl learn her lesson!
