My Parentology Lab

The uneventful story happened few days back(On Monday's evening). When I finished baking some almond flakes for my 3rd batches of Pavlova. While I rested it by the side of the oven, my girl who was too keen to get a closer look at the flakes or perhaps wanted to smell the fragrance kissed by the oven tray(right above her upper lips, as shown in the picture)!

I know it was painful but she didn't cry nor complain a single word, just snuggled and buried her mouth into my thigh. Thought she was sobbing but she was then gave me a smile, I should have gave her the most courageous award for her bravely and high threshold for pain!

The story didn't end there! On Tuesday afternoon, when I picked her from her Montessori, her form teacher told me when she asked about the wound above her lips, my girl told her that the oven kissed her... (slapped forehead)! Never mind, yesterday her teacher complained to me that she also told other teachers some different stories(scratch head), she told Teacher Sue Lin she actually fell down and hit her lips and to Teacher Joanne she said she has banged on the cabinet!!!

Shall I crown her a supeer imaginative child or a 'Bullshit Queen'(Stuck tongue out)?!!!

Just now when I was blogging X's potty train milestone, he fretted and kept pointing the packet of chocolate I placed on the shelf. Since his lips were red (sign of heatiness), I didn't allow him to have any of it but I did console him by giving him Cocoon jelly instead.

After he finished 1, he requested for another, I complied since the portion wasn't that much(approximately 10g per jelly cup). He finished it too in a split second and wanted for more, I stared at him and said sternly, " You already have 2!"

To my surprise he replied, " *Ai three!"
*Ai= Want in Hainanese

Yesterday marked the 1st time X(19 months old) went napkin-less! Yes, I only put him on diaper at night or during family outing, other time he will be wearing napkins.

Yesterday morning after a nice warm bath, he requested to put him on a bear printed pants. I warned him, if I put that for him he will have to inform me anytime when he feel like peeing. True enough, yesterday was the 1st time he didn't urinate in his pants(he did wet his pants during some uncontrolled water play in the bath room). From time to time he will tell me his urge for peeing and he even successfully pooped in the potty, though some might be faked alarm!

Today, he still insisted to wear pants. He did peed in his pants this morning, but that was in the playground when he got too engrossed into exploring the field. When the time he told me, he already incompetently peed in his pants.

Anyway, I must admit he did a great job in initiating potty training, proud of him!
